Upon entering our office our receptionist will greet you and welcome you as a member of our family. We will request you fill out our new patient forms located in the Online forms section. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.
Next, you will have a consultation with Dr William McCallum to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr William McCallum to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.
After your consultation, Cathy will perform two different computerized spinal scans to give us information about the state of your nervous system. Then a digital scan of your feet will be performed to assess the foot for proper support of the skeletal system above. Following this, Dr. McCallum will perform a complete chiropractic examination involving palpation of your spine to assess the presence of subluxations, testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
If, following the examination, it appears that you are a candidate for Chiropractic care, your specific condition will require us to take x-rays to get a full evaluation of your spine.. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions and assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most people are amazed once they see their x-rays and can often immediately identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves. X-rays are taken outside the office so you will be booked for a report of findings visit within the next day or so.
Report of Findings
Once all the examinations have been evaluated together and x-rays have been analyzed, Dr. McCallum will give you a report of findings to answer the three most popular questions:
- Can you help me?
- What do you recommend that I do to get better?
- How much is it going to cost?
After discussing with you your history and your goals, spinal examination findings, reviewing any x-rays and computerized spinal scans, Dr. William will discuss recommendations with you. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, the doctor will tell you. If Dr. McCallum believes we can help you, we will recommend adjustments and start your education toward living a healthier life for you and your family.
Patients will generally be provided with their first chiropractic adjustment at the conclusion of the report of findings appointment. This may include spinal adjustments and/or soft tissue therapies. Treatment is interactive with you so you can express any concerns you have about the style of adjustment you will be most comfortable with.
